Defending the nation from cyber attack; everyone has a responsibility to help

speaker: Veteran Red Leader Rob
In an age where the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) faces relentless digital threats, defence is no longer just about anti-virus, firewalls and policies—it’s about thinking like the adversary. This talk explores how veteran Red Team leader Rob challenged and stress‑tested the nation’s most vital systems, simulating real‑world attacks to expose weaknesses before hostile actors could exploit them. He and his team's work was a cornerstone of modern cyber resilience, helping banks, energy grids, transport networks, healthcare systems, and communications providers stay one step ahead.

A Season on a Deer Farm on Exmoor

speaker: Andy Beale
Andy has worked at Throwcombe Park as the Farm Manager for the past 25 years. He will talk to us about the challenges and delights of managing a local deer farm. Throwcombe Park has approximately 120 acres of pasture and woodland, with around 125 red deer, kept mainly for the production of organic venison. They are kept in a “near to natural” state, although many are extremely tame due to the selective breeding process. The talk will cover handling and de-antlering and other activities carried out throughout the year to bring an animal from birth to plate.
