He and his team’s work was a cornerstone of modern cyber resilience\, helping banks\, energy grids\, transport networks\, healthcare systems\, and communications providers stay one step ahead. \nBut safeguarding the UK isn’t only the responsibility of security professionals. Every citizen plays a part. From recognising phishing attempts to practising good digital hygiene\, small everyday actions collectively strengthen national security. Cyber defence is now a shared endeavour: Red Teams probe the front lines\, while the public reinforces the foundation. \nThis session will unpack how these proactive practices protect the UK\, why they matter\, and how individuals can contribute to a safer digital future. SUMMARY:A Season on a Deer Farm on Exmoor
DESCRIPTION:Andy has worked at Throwcombe Park as the Farm Manager for the past 25 years. He will talk to us about the challenges and delights of managing a local deer farm. Throwcombe Park has approximately 120 acres of pasture and woodland\, with around 125 red deer\, kept mainly for the production of organic venison. They are kept in a “near to natural” state\, although many are extremely tame due to the selective breeding process. The talk will cover handling and de-antlering and other activities carried out throughout the year to bring an animal from birth to plate.
